Quality and Environmental Officer

The Resource Recovery Group is a statutory local government authority established in 1991 by local governments in the southern part of metropolitan Perth. We deliver innovative and sustainable waste management solutions for the benefit of our communities and the environment.

 

Position details:
Position type: Permanent full-time
Workdays: Monday – Friday
Hours: 76 per fortnight
Remuneration:  $65,000 salary p/a + superannuation + phone allowance
Pay cycle: Fortnightly
Location: Canning Vale

 

About the role
Located in Canning Vale, you will coordinate quality and environment activities, including but not limited to supervise Waste Audit Labourers, develop reports from data collected in waste audits, contribute to the development of the Environmental and Quality Management System, and monitor consumption of fuel, water, electricity, waste, and greenhouse emissions production within the site.

 

Skills and Qualifications Required:

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Quality and Environment
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, and drug and alcohol assessment.
  • Police clearance less than three months old
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers’ licence
  • COVID-19 Vaccination evidence
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of ISO standards 9001, 14001, and 45001
  • Well-developed oral, written, and non-verbal communication skills to liaise with a range of stakeholders.
  • Technical report writing skills to collate, analyse and present data.

Desirable:

  • Waste auditing methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of specific technologies in resource recovery.
  • Knowledge of municipal waste streams and characteristics.
  • Experience in laboratory and / or research and analysis work
