Team Leader

About the role: 
You will play a vital role in supporting our vision of a circular economy with less waste and lower carbon emissions by leading a team of Operators and Sorters at our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Canning Vale. The MRF recovers materials from the Recycling (yellow top) bins for reuse in product manufacturing. 

  • Permanent full-time position, Mon to Fri, 06:00am – 02:06pm. 
  • Total salary package including 11% super: circa $80k

Key duties include: 

  • Direct work for all staff in the MRF, ensuring materials received are efficiently and effectively sorted while minimising diversion to landfill and achieving a good quality product.
  • Provide adequate instruction, information, supervision, support and training to the staff so they can perform their work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback as required. Escalate performance issues to the Operations Supervisor. 
  • Ensure operational log sheets, checklists, and other production reporting documentation is accurately completed.
  • Support the recruitment and on-boarding of new MRF staff.

About you:

  • Valid WA ‘C’ Class drivers’ licence.
  • Facial hair must be maintained to enable a seal with a P2 dust mask.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical + drug and alcohol test.
  • Must be physically fit to perform manual tasks that involve pulling, stooping, squatting and standing.
  • Demonstrated team leader experience in a manufacturing or an operating plant environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of safe work procedures, WHS legislation and environmental legislation.
